Comedy’s master craftsman headlines Pretty Much The Best Comedy Show

Cleveland-bred New York comic Dave Hill is the latest headliner for the hot ticket series Pretty Much The Best Comedy Show at Proctors.

Hill, dubbed “brilliant” by New York Magazine, is also a writer, musician and man-about-town, with a resume that reaches far beyond standup.

While he has appeared on a wide swath of television outlets, including Comedy Central, HBO, Adult Swim, Cinemax, MTV, BBC-America, VH1, Sundance Channel, TLC, Current TV, Spike TV, Fuse TV and the MOJO network, Hill—called “one of the funniest men alive,” by The Atlantic—is also a contributor to the popular public radio program This American Life and host of his own radio show on New York’s WFMU.

As a scribe, Hill has written for the New York Times, GQ, Salon, VICE, McSweeney’s, the Huffington Post, the New York Daily News, Guitar World and Guitar Player. He has published two books, Tasteful Nudes and Dave Hill Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.

His current band, Valley Lodge, performs the theme song for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on HBO.

And Hill, “comedy’s master craftsman,” according to Philadelphia Weekly, issued his debut comedy album, Let Me Turn You On, last summer.

“He is at the vanguard of a new class of entertainers.”
