Lauded pianist Richard Glazier strikes up the band for The Gershwin Concert Experience at Proctors
Rhapsody & Rhythm—The Gershwin Concert Experience, a musical celebration of one of the greatest songwriting teams in American history, comes to Proctors, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 18. Join pianist and host Richard Glazier and his band for a singular multimedia journey highlighting the collaborative genius of George and Ira Gershwin.
Tickets, $20–$50, are available at the Box Office at Proctors, 432 State Street, Schenectady; by phone at 518.346.6204; and online at proctors.org.
In addition to the legendary music—songs like “‘S Wonderful,” “Someone to Watch Over Me,” “I Got Rhythm,” “Summertime” and “Strike Up the Band”—this unforgettable concert includes rare Gershwin home videos and photos, special family stories and much more!
Indianapolis-born Glazier began studying keyboard at age six. In 2007, the Cleveland Institute of Music awarded the pianist—a multiple winner of major international competitions and the star of three PBS television specials—the prestigious Alumni Achievement Award for his contributions to American Popular Song.
Performed throughout North America to critical acclaim, Rhapsody & Rhythm is the definitive Gershwin experience, featuring incredible musicians with an unparalleled understanding of why the Gershwin brothers will forever be the most beloved and respected songwriting team in history.
In October, Proctors will present, as part of its Key Private Bank Broadway Series, the new Tony Award-winning Gershwin musical, An American in Paris.
