SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—MARCH 15, 2018—Juggling the roles of being a single mom, lawyer, writer and comedian could seem daunting to anyone. Julie Kottakis, with her dark views on dating and parenting, uses this experience to bring laughs to audiences all over the United States.
She headlines Pretty Much the Best Comedy Show, Underground at Proctors, 8 p.m. Saturday, March 31.
Currently the host of the Madge the Vag web series on scarymommy.com, Kottakis has performed stand up at various comedy festivals, most recently The Women in Comedy Festival and Laughing Devil Festival; she placed as a finalist in the She Devil Comedy Festival. Her solo play, Does this Dress Make Me Look Alone, was selected for the NYC International Fringe Festival in 2014. Kottakis has won numerous awards including NYC’s Funniest Lawyer of 2010 and NYC’s Most Incredible Comedian at Broadway Comedy Club, making her “basically the funniest person in all of NYC.”
Her performance at Proctors is being recorded for a comedy album. Every laugh from the live studio audience could forever remain on tape.
Pretty Much the Comedy Show includes a featured act, host and a guest comedian, for nearly two hours of comic entertainment.
