The arrival of Hotel brings two anniversaries. Launched in 1993, and led by Jeannot Painchaud, CirqueÉloizeis celebrating its 25th year. And the partnership between the company and Proctors, begun in 2013, is marking its fifth.

Trailblazing in every respect, Cirque Éloizewas the first troupe in North America to bring the circus into theatre venues, introducing its intimate storytelling shows to the United States and beyond.

Show director Emmanuel Guillaume says Hotel, featuring a dozen onstage acrobats and musicians, is “a glamorous world where circus, dance, music and song come together around human stories—just like life, but even more colorful and vivid.”

Hotel is the place where we mingle with strangers for a moment. From the Maître d’hôtel, overwhelmed by the day’s events, to the mischievous maid, to the devoted handyman and his inseparable dog, Carpette, the hotel’s staff is, like each of us, the privileged witnesses to the lives of such colorful individuals.

Carried by the voice of a client on the top floor who comments, testifies and tells the story, meet the lovers who still do not know they are meant to be and the celebrity who goes out of her way to win her place in the firmament while revealing the depth of her being. Enter the lobby doors of this grandiose place and discover the intricately-woven story of these and other travelers!

Cirque Éloizereturns to Proctors again April 6–7 with Saloon.
