Capitalizing Our Future

Proctors and the Region

Twelve years ago, Proctors was the spark in downtown Schenectady’s rebirth. Over the last six years, our Capitalizing Our Future Campaign has allowed us to expand our efforts and ignite the entire Capital Region. We live our mission each and every day – through arts and community leadership, to be a catalyst for excellence in education, sustainable economic development and rich civic engagement, to enhance the quality of life in the greater Capital Region. Using these mission tenets as a guide, our goals were to:

  • grow Arts Education programming to reach every student in the region
  • make Tech Valley a national leader in creative industries
  • preserve our historic Theatre
  • amplify our diverse community voices now and in the future

Our community embraced these goals and supported the Capitalization Campaign with gifts totaling over $8.6 million in cash gifts and $4.6 million in planned/estate gifts.

Among the visible, physical plant projects that the campaign funded are: The Adeline Graham Theatrical Training and Innovation Center at Proctors, expansion of Marquee Power Plant, completion of painting and restoration of the MainStage theatre, and modernization of our State Street Marquee and the addition of 2 new digital marquees.
