Schenectady-Saratoga Symphony Orchestra Holding Auditions for Future Members
SCHENECTADY (Oct. 21) – Community-based Schenectady-Saratoga Symphony Orchestra consists of both paid and volunteer musicians. Individuals wishing to become paid members or substitutes must successfully pass an audition. SSSO will hold this season’s blind auditions 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, by appointment at Proctors, Schenectady before Artistic Director Glen Cortese and several orchestra members.
SSSO will hold auditions for paid members for bass (one position), violin (multiple positions), and viola (two positions). For required audition excerpts, visit sssony.org/auditions.
For musicians who wish to audition for the substitute list, they should prepare to play a selection of their choice that best demonstrates their level of musical performance. Musicians who wish to perform on an unpaid basis may petition to join the orchestra without a formal audition.
