It’s officially winter, but the Collaborative School of the Arts has summer on the brain
Broadway Camp auditions close soon, while other programs open Feb. 3
SCHENECTADY—Stay warm with plans and thoughts of summer vacation for your school-aged children with the Collaborative School of the Arts! We’ve announced multiple programs for July 2025 in which students can enjoy, grow and learn through exciting opportunities, both on- and backstage. With something for everyone, don’t miss the chance to try out and show off their creativity and talents.
“Summer is the perfect time for young artists to discover their potential and grow in confidence,” says Director of Education Christine Sheehan. “Our programs offer a supportive and creative environment where students can explore their talents, build lasting connections and gain invaluable experiences. We can’t wait to welcome our next wave of aspiring stars!”
The Collaborative School’s biggest program is open to ages 14-19. Broadway Camp encapsulates what it feels like to be part of a professional show, from acting, to behind-the-scenes production and musicians. Leading up to the performances of “Urinetown,” students will participate in skill-building workshops, studio classes and hands-on training in a supportive environment designed for student success.
Auditions for actors and musicians are currently open and will close Feb. 2. Sign up quickly so students don’t miss the audition period for the premiere theatre training program in the Capital Region and the opportunity to perform a Broadway-style musical on the MainStage at Proctors! Registration for the production crew opens Feb. 3.
For the younger theatre lovers, Broadway Camp Jr. provides a safe space to explore their high notes and creativity on stage! There are two sessions available for the one-week workshop, open to ages 12-14. The program is led by industry professionals and combines training in acting, singing and dancing while keeping the fun front and center. Students leave the program with a new headshot, new friends and a dazzling showcase! Registration opens Feb. 3.
All Broadway Camp programs are located at Proctors.
