theREP set to participate in 2025 CR*FT!

Capital Region Festival of Theatre is the celebration and promotion of all things theatrical for all ages in the Capital of the Empire State, and its surrounding cities, towns, and hamlets. This 6/12-6/15 CR&FT takes their party to 7 venues in 4 days with stops at Sage, SLOC & theREP winding up with a full day, 20-event Sunday at the UAlbany campus center. Come along and discover what’s onstage in our 100+ theatres!

theREP is opening its venue to host an exciting evening of theatre comprised of presentations from local community theatres and theatre artists. theREP will provide a crew, its main stage, light rep plot, modest props and set pieces.

Presentations must have a running time of no more than 20 minutes and may include one-act plays, readings, solo performances, solo songs (sung to a track), spoken word pieces or excerpts from plays. (no musicals, please). Before the show, the theatre lobby will welcome patrons with fun activities and a cash bar, while upstairs in the Iselin Family Studio Theatre, an array of local theatres will provide materials, samples of theatre crafts and chances to win prizes in the day’s raffle. The idea is to create a great evening of entertainment and exemplary work on June 14, 2025 from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. at Capital Rep, 251 N. Pearl St., Albany, NY 12207.  All events are free and open to the public.

Any theatre or theatre artist in the region is eligible.

Please put CRFT SUBMISSION in your subject line. Include a short description of your project, a script, list of participants (actors, director). Projects can be a past production or something planned just for the festival. 

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS:  3/1/2025. 
Selected projects will be notified by 4/7/24.
