Universal Preservation Hall brings diverse lineup to the heart of city

SARATOGA SPRINGS—Universal Preservation Hall is a home for everyone and have packed the upcoming months with a variety of performances! In the heart of downtown Saratoga Springs lies an intimate venue with incredible acoustics and the perfect atmosphere that brings in all forms of entertainment from legacy artists, world renowned jazz artists, top-notch tribute bands, magicians, and comedians.

The beautifully restored church opens its doors to people from all walks of life in the vibrant city creating a special ambience for anyone who attends. Director Teddy Foster describes UPH as “a true cultural center in the heart of downtown for all to enjoy whether attending a performance or a community event.”

UPH’s unique variety of performances is on full display with its remaining 2025 lineup. The shows bring thrilling, diverse acts such as Everclear, a hypnotist featuring Colin Mochrie, the Vitamin String Quartet, Seven Wonders: a Tribute to Fleetwood Mac, and more!

July 2: Women Aren’t Funny Featuring Bethany Van Delft — Bethany Van Delft flips the script on outdated stereotypes in monthly Women Aren’t Funny showcase hosted by Erin Harkes, a night of razor-sharp comedy, wit, and insight. Known for her standout performances on NPR’s “Tell Me More” and Comedy Central, Van Delft delivers punchlines with power, proving once and for all that funny has no gender.

July 12: Jam On UPH Feat. Sophistafunk and Tops of Trees — Get ready to groove with an electrifying night of funk, soul, and jam band energy! Syracuse’s own Sophistafunk brings their signature fusion of hip-hop and funk, while Tops of Trees adds rich textures of psychedelic rock and blues. A can’t-miss summer celebration of rhythm and roots.

Aug. 7: Alex Shillo and Badlands Tribute to Bruce Springsteen — Experience the heartland rock and anthemic energy of The Boss with Alex Shillo and Badlands. This powerful tribute captures the spirit of Bruce Springsteen’s greatest hits and deep cuts, delivered with authenticity and passion by a band of lifelong fans and top-tier musicians.

Aug. 9: Everclear — An American rock band formed in 1991 are known for their raw, emotionally charged lyrics and a distinctive blend of alternative rock, post-grunge, and power pop. They rose to prominence in the late ’90s with hits like “Santa Monica,” “Father of Mine,” and “I Will Buy You a New Life.”

Aug. 16: Sip, Savor and Swirl — Indulge your senses at Sip, Savor and Swirl with NACRE Dance Group, a summer soirée of fine wine, gourmet bites, and good company. Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or simply love to explore new flavors, this event offers a curated tasting experience you won’t want to miss.

Sept. 13: Tower of Power — Legendary soul and funk icons Tower of Power return with their signature horn-driven sound and unstoppable groove. With over 50 years of hits like “What Is Hip?” and “Soul Vaccination,” their live show is a masterclass in tight rhythms, soaring vocals, and timeless energy.

Sept. 25: HYPROV: Improv under Hypnosis Starring Colin Mochrie & Asad Mecci — A one-of-a-kind comedy experience where master hypnotist Asad Mecci puts audience volunteers under hypnosis, and improv legend Colin Mochrie (“Whose Line Is It Anyway?”) turns their uninhibited minds into comedy gold. Smart, spontaneous, and absolutely unpredictable.

Oct. 2: Béla Fleck, Edmar Castañeda, and Antonio Sánchez — Three virtuosos. One unforgettable night. BEATrio unites banjo innovator Béla Fleck, Colombian harp master Edmar Castañeda, and Grammy-winning drummer Antonio Sánchez in an astonishing exploration of rhythm, melody, and global soundscapes. A bold, genre-defying performance that redefines musical collaboration that’s part of the Saratoga Book Festival.

Oct. 18: Pink Martini — Part big band, part orchestra, all adventure, Pink Martini delivers a multilingual, genre-spanning musical journey that’s equal parts jazz, classical, Latin, and retro-pop. Led by Thomas Lauderdale and featuring vocalist China Forbes, this glamorous ensemble knows how to throw a global party.

Oct. 30: Spyro Gyra — Fusing jazz, R&B, and Latin vibes, Spyro Gyra brings decades of smooth grooves and sophisticated sound to the stage. Known for hits like “Morning Dance,” this legendary band continues to innovate while honoring the rich legacy of contemporary jazz.

Nov. 1: Celebrating 45 Years of Alex Torres and his Latin Orchestra — Get ready to dance as Alex Torres and his celebrated Latin Orchestra mark 45 years of electrifying audiences with sizzling salsa, merengue, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. A jubilant celebration of Latin music’s power that will move hearts, and hips.

Nov. 7: The Seven Wonders: A Live Tribute to Fleetwood Mac — Relive the timeless sound of Fleetwood Mac with this authentic and passionate tribute band. The Seven Wonders capture the magic of one of rock’s most beloved groups, from “Rhiannon” to “Go Your Own Way” and everything in between.

Nov. 14: John Waite — With a voice that defined a generation, John Waite returns to the stage for an intimate evening of iconic rock and heartfelt ballads. Waite delivers classic songs with raw emotion and timeless style.

Nov. 30: Chris Botti — Internationally acclaimed trumpeter Chris Botti returns to UPH with his signature blend of jazz, pop, and classical finesse to the stage. Known for his mesmerizing tone and world-class collaborations, Botti’s live performance is an elegant journey through soulful melodies and dazzling musicianship.
