Dance! Dance! Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company is popping up across the Capital Region

‘Putting Out the Welcome Mat’ kicked off at Universal Preservation Hall

Get up close and personal with the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company as they pop up at 35 locations across the Capital Region to celebrate their 35th anniversary with “Putting Out the Welcome Mat.” They kicked off their celebration Friday, Sept. 19 at UPH before The Great American Soul Book performance.

Throughout the year, dancers will present 34 more performances featuring selections from their repertoire of over 90 dances along with new works specifically created for this series. Audiences can get an intimate view of the company as they gather around a large mat in special locations and no two performances will be exactly the same!

Keep your eyes peeled and your senses open; you might happen to be where the dancers of ESDC appear next. From museum halls to street corners, staircases to sculpture gardens — their pop-up performances transform everyday spaces into stages of movement, emotion, and surprise.

You can catch their next appearance 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28 at Proctors before “A Beautiful Noise.” To see their upcoming performances visit their website.
