Collaborative School of the Arts triple threat classes open for registration Nov. 10

SCHENECTADY—Are you ready to take center stage in your performance career? The Collaborative Academy for Theatrical Training is your ticket to the spotlight! This powerhouse program from the Collaborative School of the Arts is designed for passionate performers who are ready to level up and become true triple threats. Master singing, acting, and dancing with industry professionals from the Capital Region.

The Junior Academy, for ages 10-13, runs from Jan.17-April 4 from 12-3:30 p.m. each Saturday at Proctors! Registration for classes opens Nov. 10.

“The Collaborative Academy is designed to meet students where they are while encouraging them to grow beyond their comfort zones. Our instructors work closely to create cohesive, interconnected lessons that help students build their skills and understand how each element connects,” said Assistant Director of School Programs Shai Davenport.

With monthly classes led by Lisa Franklin (voice/dication), Oliver Wadsworth (acting technique), and Freddy Ramirez (musical theatre dance), you’ll get new skills, insider knowledge, and professional guidance.

Franklin toured in Germany with many orchestras in both concert and opera settings. She has been on the faculty of the New York State Theatre Institute, where she taught voice classes and now teaches voice at the Academy of the Holy Names in Albany.

Wadsworth has worked extensively in the U.S. as an actor and writer. He was in the first National tour of “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.” And most recently in “The Lehman Trilogy” and “Once” at Capital Repertory Theatre.

Ramirez is the Director of Dance Programming at the Collaborative School of the Arts, an associate artist at theREP, and assistant artistic director at the Northeast Ballet Company. He has been the choreographer for the Broadway Camp program at Proctors since its inception and most recently choreographed “Once,” “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical,” “Jersey Boys,” “Million Dollar Quartet Christmas,” “The Irish and How They Got That Way,” “The Wizard of Oz,” and many more at theREP.
