Preacher Lawson Brings High-Energy Comedy to Universal Preservation Hall

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (Sept. 16) — Comedian Preacher Lawson, known for his energetic stage presence, physical comedy, and quick-fire storytelling, returns to Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga Springs at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15.

Lawson rose to national prominence as a finalist on Season 12 of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” in 2017, where his animated performances and distinctive comedic style made him a fan favorite. He later returned to the franchise for “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” in 2019, finishing in fifth place, and competed on “Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions” that same year. More recently, he returned to the “AGT” stage for “America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League.”

Since his breakout on “America’s Got Talent,” Lawson has built a career that spans stand-up, television, and digital entertainment. His first stand-up special, “Get to Know Me,” premiered on BET+ in 2019, and his television credits include HBO’s “A Black Lady Sketch Show,” NBC’s “Connecting,” and “The Tonight Show.” He also completed a residency hosting “America’s Got Talent Live” in Las Vegas.

Lawson has developed a large online following through a mix of stand-up clips, sketches, fitness content, and vegan cooking videos, bringing the same animated personality that defines his live performances to audiences across social media. His YouTube channel has attracted more than 600,000 subscribers, while his comedy continues to take him to venues across the country.

Lawson’s Oct. 15 appearance marks a return to Universal Preservation Hall, where he previously performed his “Best Day Ever Comedy Tour” in May 2024.
