Proctors Collaborative needs you! Next training session Nov. 21
SCHENECTADY — With the approaching holiday season, it is a wonderful time to consider giving back and becoming a volunteer at Proctors Collaborative. Our mission would not be possible without the help of our volunteers.
Proctors Collaborative will host a training session for new volunteers for all three venues – Proctors in Schenectady, Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga Springs, and Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany – at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21 at Proctors. To sign up, visit proctors.org/about/opportunities or contact Volunteer Coordinator Tasha Hudson at (518) 382-3884 ext. 169 or thudson@proctors.org.
Volunteers may view the shows at which they serve for free, will occasionally receive an opportunity to reserve complimentary tickets to a limited number of upcoming shows, and are always eligible for a 10 percent discount to concessions at each venue, as well as a 20 percent discount at the Gift Centre at Proctors.
Currently there are 624 volunteers across the organization. On average, it takes up to 65 volunteers to staff a MainStage show at Proctors; fewer in other spaces. Positions include ushers, concession sales, bartending, wayfinding and at Proctors, retail sales in the Gift Centre.
“Without volunteers there would be no programming,” said Hudson. “They are investing in our future.”
