Proctors seating donors honored
SCHENECTADY—Monday, The Massry Family and the New York State Council on the Arts were honored as major donors to a comprehensive Proctors seating project in an evening ceremony at the downtown theatre.
Other top tier donors include County of Schenectady, Fenimore Asset Management, Neil and Jane Golub, Wallace Graham, The Putnam Family, Rivers Casino & Resort at Mohawk Harbor, Stewart’s Shops and the Dake Family, and, through a legislative gift, New York State Senator Jim Tedisco.
In October, Proctors completed a three-month project to replace all fixed seats in the MainStage auditorium, install a theatre-wide hearing loop and add balcony handrails for increased safety and comfort.
Together, with 140 additional supporters, the campaign raised over $1.3 million to subsidize the project, which will ensure a richer cultural experience for the community for years to come.
Proctors applauds these major donors for their generous funding of the 2018 New Seat Campaign.
Monday, those listed, and others, joined by Proctors Collaborative CEO Philip Morris, were invited to “test drive” their new seats, while enjoying light refreshments and conversation on the Harry Apkarian Stage.
There are still opportunities for all to secure Your Seat in the Spotlight. With a $500 tax-deductible donation to the Seat Campaign at Proctors, a brass plate will be installed on a selected armrest, bearing an inscription (up to three lines) of your choice. Certificates with the exact location of the seat(s) will be sent to each donor.
