Vote for your favorite artist, venue and concert!

SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—MARCH 5, 2019—As previously announced, the inaugural Capital Region Thomas Edison Music Awards will amplify, empower and celebrate professionals working in the area’s wide-ranging music scene. Over 60 judges drawn from the region’s music industry will soon review materials submitted by nominees in 34 categories embracing 185 artists, ensembles, club owners, sound technicians, educators, journalists and photographers.

“But we need to hear from the people, too,” says Eddies co-founder and Proctors Collaborative Program Coordinator Sal Prizio. “There’s so much music happening in the Capital Region that we can’t keep track of it all! Let’s get many voices calling out for their favorite artists, venues and concerts.”

To that end, voting opens noon Wednesday, March 6 in three Eddies categories:

People’s Choice Local Music Artist of the Year

People’s Choice Local Music Venue of the Year

People’s Choice Local Concert of the Year

Capital Region music fans are invited to cast their ballot athttps://www.atproctors.org/eddiespeoplechoice/

Winners in the three categories will be announced at the Capital Region Thomas Edison Music Awards, 6 p.m. Sunday April 14 at Proctors.

One lucky voter will receive two tickets to The Eddies, as well as a $25 Proctors gift card.

People’s Choice voting rules:

Entrants must be age 18+ to participate.

Email addresses must be valid.

Only one entry per email address.  

Entry period is March 6–April 4. Entries received outside those dates will not be accepted.  

Votes considered for concerts held in the Capital Region, Jan. 1, 2018–Dec. 31, 2018.

Votes considered for local artists and local venues active in the Capital Region, Jan. 1, 2018–Dec. 31, 2018.

It is not necessary to vote in every category to be eligible to win the ticket contest and/or for vote to be recorded.  

Contest winner will be notified on or about April 8.
