Sassy Comedies Meet Spectacular Circus: Three Dazzling Shows Hit the MainStage at Proctors
SCHENECTADY (June 2) — From outrageous comedy to awe-inspiring acrobatics, Proctors is bringing a bold mix of entertainment to its MainStage. Audiences can look forward to a cheeky, modern reimagining of beloved sitcom icons this fall, followed by a high-energy international spectacle in the winter that showcases the rhythm, strength, and spirit of West African performance.
Following sold out performances and rave reviews across the country, The Golden Girls are back and better than ever with a stage show that’s more exciting than a trip to the Rusty Anchor. Miami’s sassiest seniors return for one more hurrah in an all-new show “Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue” on the MainStage at Proctors 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6. Story by Robert Leleux. Directed by Eric Swanson. Imagine what the Golden Girls would be doing today if they were still alive. 2026 finds Sophia out on bail, after being busted by the DEA for running a drug ring at Shady Pines. Blanche and Rose have founded CreakN, a thriving sex app for seniors. And Dorothy is trying to hold it all together, with help from her much younger, sex-crazed love interest.
Four women, one black lace bra, and plenty to laugh about. “Menopause The Musical” follows four strangers who discover they have more in common than they ever imagined at Proctors Nov. 12-15. Featuring parody songs set to classic hits from the ‘60s, ’70s, and ’80s, the internationally acclaimed show has delighted more than 17 million audience members worldwide. Celebrating their 25th anniversary tour, its filled with humor, heart, and unforgettable music, it’s a feel-good celebration that will leave audiences laughing, singing, and cheering along.
Cirque Kalabanté “Afrique en Cirque” is a show by Yamoussa Bangoura, inspired by daily life in Guinea 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24 on the MainStage at Proctors. This performance shares the beauty, youth, and artistry of African culture. A colorful show beyond its scenery, costumes, and staging, it makes any theatre vibrate with energy and represents the strength, agility, and life’s joys of young Africans. The audience will see acrobats execute gravity-defying moves and human pyramids, accompanied by the contemporary sounds of live Afro-Jazz, percussion, and kora.
