CSOA students take the national stage at the Jimmy Awards

In June, Lily Sinnott of Shenendehowa High School and Max Mittler of Saratoga Springs High School represented the Capital Region at the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (The Jimmy Awards) in New York City. Their participation was made possible through the generous sponsorship of M/E Engineering.

Sinnott and Mittler earned the opportunity after being named Outstanding Lead Performers at the Collaborative School of the Arts’ High School Musical Theatre Awards in May. Sinnott received the honor for her portrayal of Natasha in “Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812,” while Mittler was recognized for his performance as Jack Kelly in Disney’s “Newsies.”

The Jimmy Awards bring together outstanding high school musical theatre students from across the country for an intensive week of coaching, mentorship, and collaboration, culminating in a spectacular showcase on Broadway. The annual event celebrates excellence in musical theatre and awards scholarships and honors to the nation’s most promising young performers.
