Universal Preservation Hall Announces Masquerave, Home Free, and The Righteous Brothers

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (Sept. 16) — Universal Preservation Hall is adding three shows to its upcoming lineup, welcoming the return of Masquerave this fall, a holiday performance from country a cappella group Home Free in December, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame duo The Righteous Brothers in February.

The fourth annual Masquerave returns to Universal Preservation Hall Saturday, Oct. 24, transforming the historic venue into an immersive Halloween-inspired dance experience. Presented by All of Us Events, Masquerave has become an annual tradition at UPH, combining electronic dance music, elaborate production, costumes, and the atmosphere of a masquerade inside the nearly 150-year-old former church. This year’s Masquerave: Carnivale brings a new theme to the annual celebration while continuing the high-energy experience that has defined the event since its debut. Costumes and masquerade-inspired attire are encouraged.

The holiday season continues when all-vocal country group Home Free brings its “Coming Home for the Holidays” tour to Universal Preservation Hall Saturday, Dec. 12. Known for its five-part harmonies, country sound, and quick-witted humor, Home Free first gained national attention after winning the fourth season of NBC’s “The Sing-Off.” The group has since built an international following through extensive touring, recordings, and its harmony-driven takes on country favorites and popular songs.

The new year brings another celebrated act to the UPH stage when The Righteous Brothers, featuring Bill Medley and Bucky Heard, perform Thursday, Feb. 4. The Righteous Brothers helped define the “blue-eyed soul” sound of the 1960s, with Medley and Hatfield creating a catalog that has remained part of American popular music for more than six decades. The duo was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. Following Hatfield’s death that year, Medley eventually joined forces with vocalist Bucky Heard to bring The Righteous Brothers back to the stage. Their live performances celebrate the group’s history with classics including “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’,” “Unchained Melody,” “(You’re My) Soul and Inspiration,” and “Rock and Roll Heaven,” along with Medley’s Grammy Award-winning “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.”

Together, the three newly announced performances bring electronic dance music, holiday entertainment, country, rock, and soul to UPH’s upcoming calendar.
