SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—JAN. 22, 2019—Most comics come from somewhere else, but land in New York City. Eliot Chang decidedly went the other way. The New York born funny man lives on the west coast.

Besides, Los Angeles is just as convoluted, populated and crazy as New York, so it still works.

Chang, making his Schenectady debut, headlines Pretty Much the Best Comedy Showat Proctors, 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26. The popular showcase includes nearly two hours of live stand-up comedy entertainment, complete with opening acts and a full cash bar.

Chang, who describes his style as “just being honest,”has had two 30-minute Comedy Central Half Hour specials, and is known for his comedy videos, where he destroys audience hecklers. Chang, no stranger to TV, has also been seen on Chelsea Latelyon E! and AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live, and has appeared on both Showtime and HBO.

Chang—who studied improv at UCB Theatre in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen and trained with Magnet Theater’s legendary Armando Diaz—has toured his stand-up act across America, Europe and Asia. His YouTube channel, EliotChangOfficial, has millions of views and has spawned multiple viral video hits.
